Aldehyde-Stabilized Cryopreserved Pig Brain — Evaluation Images

3D electron microscopy and gross dissection views from the Large Mammal Prize evaluation.

Aldehyde-stabilized cryopreserved pig brain with 3D electron microscopy of its connectome
The prize-winning aldehyde-stabilized cryopreserved pig brain, alongside 3D electron microscopy of its preserved connectome.

This page hosts the electron-microscopy image sets and 3D stacks from the BPF's evaluation of the aldehyde-stabilized cryopreserved pig brain submitted for the Large Mammal Brain Preservation Prize. The evaluation verified traceable preservation of the connectome across the whole brain following rewarming from low-temperature storage.

Image archive. The full-resolution electron-microscopy figures and downloadable 3D image stacks are being migrated to this page. If you need the original evaluation imagery in the meantime, please contact contact@brainpreservation.org.
